About the company
Cie Pieds Perchés is a Czech-Swiss contemporary circus company based in the Czech Republic, Switzerland and France. It combines contemporary circus, physical theater and visual arts to create performances accessible to all audiences. The core members are Stéphanie NDuhirahe, Morgane Widmer and Roman Dzacar. The company focuses on transforming aerial rope techniques with the goal of using them in innovative and unconventional ways. They utilize all the specific characteristics of the acrobatic rope—such as its height above the ground, the space in which the rope is suspended and the anchors themselves—to offer audiences a fresh perspective on this classic circus technique.
For the past ten years, they have been developing primarily site-specific projects focused on a given location, using the history of the space as their primary source of creativity and inspiration.
At Showcase 2026, they will present
“ŠRÁMY_Closer”—the third part of the ŠRÁMY project, which explores intergenerational trauma. Performer Marina traces her own experiences with death to the pulsating rhythm of disco, liberation, and unspeakable loss within the gay community into which she was born in 1980s Los Angeles. “Closer” draws on costumes, contemporary circus, aerial acrobatics, physical theater and oral history interviews.
“PHILIA_The Great Descent”—five acrobats on ropes suspended at great heights. Philia explores the degree of risk we are willing to take, our relationship to life cycles, and the fragility of our existence. It is vertigo, a glimpse into the abyss, but above all, it is a living tribute to friendship.
