PNEU / TYRES

Premiere: October 30–31, 2025, Jatka78, Prague

Abstract

Four bodies and hundreds of kilograms of tyres intertwine in a physically demanding performance that explores the fragile relationships between people and their environment. The unpredictable pile of tyres that dominates the scenography, and dictates human action, gradually transforms into a living, dynamic architecture. PNEU is a performance where rules unexpectedly disappear and reappear, chaos becomes structure, and imbalance turns into a driving force.

Viktor Černický presents a work that balances on the edge of contemporary circus, dance and visual art. It is a stage essay about effort, exhaustion and the restoration of strength, about physical and mental endurance. About the desire to keep a sense of lightness even in moments when everything is falling apart. About a place where disorder becomes fertile ground for seeking new meaning.

In PRIMA, a work intended for the general public, he invites local communities to take their place on stage, both in the creative process and in the performance itself. The project was commissioned and co-produced within the BeSpectACTive network, which fosters dialogue between the public and artists across Europe.

In addition to his own creations, he has collaborated and performed with artists such as Dominique Boivin (FR), Daniel Gulko (FR), Sonja Pregrad (CRO/DE), Cirk La Putyka (CZ) and Compagnie Mossoux-Bonté (BE). Since 2019, he has been a guest lecturer at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where he supervises artistic processes in the international Master’s programme Directing of Devised and Object Theatre.
