Tyč on the beach / Pole on the beach

Premiere: July 1, 2025

Abstract

Tyč on the Beach is a duet of two acrobats on the seashore, a new-circus collage with a taste of summer, holiday vibes, and naive humour. It’s a colourful postcard from vacation and a memory of a summer love smelling of gin and coconuts. A summer romance as colourful as beach umbrellas and as light as the sand that somehow always ends up in your swimsuit. Using circus techniques such as Chinese pole and aerial acrobatics, we’ll take you on an all-inclusive holiday.

The show is suitable for little and big lovers of summer and pineapples alike.

Information about the company

Pavlína Podzimková is a performer, acrobat and instructor. She is a member of Cirk La Putyka and collaborates with AirGym Art Company. She teaches acrobatics at CLP Studio, AirGym and occasionally at CIRQUEON. In 2019 she completed the Professional Course at Gravity Circus School in the UK. Her specialisation is aerial acrobatics, especially straps, silks and harness dance. In these disciplines, she enjoys exploring her own paths, and most of all, she loves working at great heights.

Tomáš Brt is a performer and acrobat, and a member of Cirk La Putyka. Originally a climber from Adršpach, he traded rocks for circus. His domain is Chinese pole. a discipline that has little representation in the Czech Republic. He also works with the pole in the air, where on the flying pole he rides up into the heights. He further focuses on floor acrobatics, a journey that led him from yoga practice through movement and contact improvisation to his own acrobatic vocabulary. Freedom of movement is essential to him, and he most enjoys improvising.

Tyč on the Beach is their first original project, in which they connect both their circus disciplines and their distinct energies and approaches to creation.
