Showcase

The Czech Contemporary Circus Association initiated the creation of the Contemporary circus Showcase for the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 2025. One day in which you can experience the atmosphere of contemporary circus, get to know Czech and Slovak artists, artistic projects and productions.

The Showcase day took place on Saturday, August 30th in cooperation with the Letní Letná festival in Prague’s Letenské sady and is focused on the Czech and Slovak professional artistic community.

During the various presentation formats, you will get to know over twenty artistic groups or individuals, evening performances suitable for indoor spaces or outdoor productions, and we do not forget about performances for children.

What could you see during the day 30th of August?

10:00 – LECTURE: Veronika Jošková Štefanová on the topic “What is the contemporary circus”

11:00 – 13:00 PITCHES: presentations of 14 projects in 7 minutes. Participating artists: Alžběta Tichá; Ariadna Vendelová; Bratislavské Bábkové divadlo; Cie Pieds Perchés; Cink Cink Cirk; CirKusKus; Eliška Brtnická; Jana Švecová; Lenka Švolíková; Lukas Bliss a Andrej Štěpita; MOVE Ostrava & FysioART; Ondřej Holba, Michaela Stará, Filip Zahradnický, Hannah Lenox, Aleš Hrdlička; Pavlína Podzimková, Tomáš Brt; Viktor Černický / ZDRUHESTRANY
– Both already created and emerging productions, as well as brand new projects, are presented.

13:00 – 14:30 NETWORKING and refreshments

14:30 – 15:30 SHOW: Cirko Hopley – Teacrobat

15:30 – 17:15 SPEEDATING: presentation of 7 artistic companies in 10 minutes: Participating companies: AirGym Art Company; Bratři v tricku; Cirk La Putyka; Holektiv; Losers Cirque Company; Tichá malina; TUTOcirk (Žongléros Ansámbl z. s.)
– The companies will present their work, which includes both outdoor and indoor performances for various target groups.

19:00 – 20:30 SHORT ACT SHOW: 3 short acts in one evening – participating artists: Eliška Brtnická with work-in-progress Roundtable; Helena Urban, Jakub Urban, Michaela Kadlčíková, Elisabeth Künkele with work-in-progress LOAM a Špatné divadlo – Arman Kupelyan and collective with project Chuck My Life.

PRACTICAL

Registration for the Showcase is intended for the professional public – cultural centers, festivals, theaters, events in public spaces and other interested parties who want to gain insight into the Czech contemporary circus scene.
After your registration is approved, you will receive a confirmation along with the option to enter website with detailed information about projects.
