Abstract
A family-friendly acrobatic-culinary show in its own circus tent, Teacrobat is a celebration of both traditional and contemporary circus.
Teacrobat is a humorous solo taking place in an acrobat’s kitchen, where the host invites the audience for a hearty serving of fun and fragrant gingerbread. The arena is equipped with a cupboard, a pantry, a table and chairs, and amidst it all, the artist keeps himself in shape! He trains, stretches, balances objects and overcomes height differences, all playfully and with ease. A generous host, he offers a rich palette of circus arts, serving its delights through various acts woven into everyday tasks, including preparing refreshments. Throughout the show, the main, and only, hero juggles not just a wooden spoon and teacups, but also proves himself an excellent equilibrist, a phenomenal hand-balancer and an irresistibly charming clown.
The original project Teacrobat is a story of one man’s big circus dream, to have his own tent. Michal Mudrák had a custom-made big top created, and not only can he pitch it himself, but he performs the entire show, runs the sound and lights, then packs everything down, dismantles it, and moves on. In Denmark he received Den Danske Cirkuspris, and Teacrobat was also nominated for the 2024 Thalia Award in the category of Alternative Theatre.

Cirko Hopley is an intimate contemporary-circus company that preserves the travelling spirit of traditional circus. Their mini big top serves as a space for creation, training and everyday life.
In this circus theatre, everything can be seen, everything can be felt, everything is close. The message of our circus theatre is mutual sharing, closeness and joy, because there can never be enough of these. The work of Cirko Hopley is intended for audiences of all ages.
