About the company

Blackout Paradox is a creative group that has been blending contemporary circus, physical theater, dance and flow arts since 2017. Starting with smaller performances, it has gradually grown into a collective that creates full-scale productions for festivals, city celebrations and other cultural events.

The group specializes in fire theater. Here fire is not merely a spectacular element of the fire show, but a full-fledged theatrical device that supports the story, atmosphere and overall dramaturgy of the performance.

Blackout Paradox’s work draws on a diverse range of themes—from mythology and humanity’s relationship with nature to technology, music and emotions. Individual projects combine striking visuals, movement, object manipulation and an emphasis on audience interaction.

The group is among the leading representatives of the Czech street and contemporary circus scene and has long been developing interdisciplinary work in the field of flow arts. In addition to its own artistic activities, it is also involved in international collaborations and passing on its experience to younger performers through workshops, mentoring and educational programs, all of which are organized under the Vlastina Paradox project. Vlastina Paradox is an emerging center for movement, creativity and community gatherings in Prague 6 that brings together contemporary circus, other movement arts, technology and activities for the local community.
